Semiconductors Product of the year

Company Name: Circuits Integrated Hellas

Product Name: CI-ONE

Supporting Statement:

CI-ONE represents a meaningful advancement in RF front-end design, addressing one of the most persistent challenges in Ka-band satellite communications: the tradeoff between performance, size, cost, and design complexity. By integrating a high-performance power amplifier and SPDT switch into a single, compact module, Circuits Integrated Hellas has redefined what is possible for next-generation Satcom architectures.

What sets CI-ONE apart is its level of integration and the tangible system-level impact it delivers. Conventional Ka-band transmit chains rely on discrete components, which increase PCB footprint, thermal complexity, and overall bill of materials. CI-ONE consolidates these functions into a single surface-mount device that is approximately three times smaller, up to 50% more cost-efficient, and up to 20% more efficient than comparable discrete implementations. This directly translates into reduced system cost, faster design cycles, and simplified integration for OEMs.

Performance is equally compelling. With ultra-fast switching speeds of 5 nanoseconds, CI-ONE enables agile transmit architectures required for advanced satellite communication systems, including those supporting 5G/6G, radar and aerospace applications. Fabricated using a GaAs pHEMT process, the CI-ONE family operates from a 6V supply and supports three output power classes—30 dBm, 34 dBm and 36 dBm variants—enabling design flexibility across 1W, 2W, and 4W system requirements. With fast switching performance of 5 ns and efficiency of approximately 22% at the 1 dB compression point (P1dB), CI-ONE enables agile transmit architectures without sacrificing power-added efficiency.

Beyond technical performance, CI-ONE addresses a rapidly expanding market opportunity. Demand for Ka-band Satcom solutions continues to grow across commercial high-throughput satellites, in-flight connectivity, maritime communications, defense multi-band terminals, and emergency response systems. These applications require compact, power-efficient, and cost-optimized hardware that can be deployed at scale. CI-ONE is uniquely positioned to meet these needs, aligning directly with projected growth in the PA and RF switch market over the coming decade.

The launch of CI-ONE also reflects Circuits Integrated Hellas’ broader innovation strategy, building on the integration philosophy established with its Kythrion platform and extending it into one of the most demanding segments of RF design. As the company advances toward volume production and expands engagement with global partners, CI-ONE is poised to play a central role in enabling more efficient, accessible, and scalable Satcom solutions.
