Test and Measurement Product of the Year
Company Name: Danisense
Product Name: MBC4000I fluxgate AC/DC current transducer
Supporting Statement:
As the global energy transition drives widespread electrification across a broad range of applications, the demand for higher power generation and consumption continues to increase. This trend has created a growing need for current measurement solutions capable of accurately monitoring currents of 4,000A and above. At the same time, the pursuit of enhanced power converter performance – particularly in terms of power quality, efficiency, and system stability – requires current measurement technologies that deliver superior accuracy, long-term stability, and minimal temperature dependence. In many high-performance applications, conventional closed-loop Hall-effect current transducers are reaching their practical limits with respect to linearity, offset drift, and measurement precision. This is exactly why Danisense’s design engineers revisited and re-engineered its fluxgate measurement principle, resulting in a new generation of current transducers that provide measurement performance up to ten times greater than that of traditional hall-effect sensors.
The latest compact MBC4000I fluxgate AC/DC current transducer from Danisense now offers very high-precision current measurements of up to 4000A and more. The device delivers measurement performance levels up to 10 times higher than conventional Hall-effect transducer solutions currently on the market. The device is built on Danisense’s highly stable re-engineered closed-loop fluxgate technology and provides exceptional accuracy below 0.05% over the temperature range from -20°C up to +85°C, ultra-low sensitivity drift and reliable current output performance. It features a large Ø121mm aperture for busbar applications, a 1:5000 primary-to-secondary ratio, and minimal offset drift over temperature. All this makes the MBC4000I transducer ideal for the latest demanding high-current measurement environments.
